Meet the Founder
Hi, I’m Michael, the founder of Complex Clarity Coaching.
I founded Complex Clarity Coaching because I saw firsthand how difficult it can be for individuals and families to find reliable, genuine support. Too often, people are left waiting, overlooked, or given generic help that doesn’t move the needle. I wanted to build a service that actually shows up, truly listens, and delivers meaningful impact.
My background is uniquely suited for this work. I hold a Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice from Griffith University, with a deep focus on forensic mental health. I spent four years in high-risk case management within statutory child safety, leading teams of support workers, managing crises, and coordinating complex services.
Through this intensive risk-and-safety work, I perfected the art of calm communication, strategic problem-solving, and knowing exactly how to de-escalate stressful situations safely. I've learned that impactful support isn’t just about checkboxes on an NDIS plan—it’s about showing up, earning trust, and helping people step out into the world with confidence.
Why I Do This
I love seeing the exact moment a participant realizes they are more capable, more connected, and more in control of their day-to-day life than they thought. I believe everyone deserves to be heard, respected, and empowered.
When I’m not working, you will almost always find me down by the water fishing, firing up a BBQ with my family, or unwinding with a good Netflix series. Bringing my passion for fishing into my professional support work has allowed me to share a peaceful, therapeutic space that naturally clears the mind and fosters deep, real-world capacity building.
I am human, I am here to listen, and I am ready to bring some true clarity to your journey.
My Background & Qualifications
Academic Foundation: Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice (Griffith University).
High-Risk Case Management: Four years of dedicated experience supporting young people in statutory care. This involved coordinating complex multi-agency services, managing intensive day-to-day participant needs, and leading teams of frontline support workers.
Crisis & Risk Specialisation: Proven expertise in proactive safety planning, calm communication under pressure, and practical problem-solving. This background ensures a highly secure, predictable environment where potential risks are managed expertly before they escalate.
Why This Experience Matters on the Water
My professional history allows me to offer an exceptionally safe and grounding experience for participants with complex psychosocial, behavioural, or high-risk needs.
Calm & Grounded Environment: I use my crisis training to keep fishing sessions relaxed, predictable, and stress-free, ensuring the participant always feels safe.
Dynamic Problem Solving: Waterways and outdoor environments can change quickly, but my risk-assessment background means every location is meticulously vetted for safety and accessibility.
A Reliable Mentor: I know how to build trust with individuals who might find traditional support systems overwhelming. My structured, 1:1 approach gives participants a reliable space to clear their minds and build real life skills.
